Guwahati News Desk: At least 24 suspected Myanmar nationals were arrested by Guwahati Police with fake Indian documents at Rihabari in Guwahati city on Sunday.
Based on specific information, Guwahati Police conducted a raid at a lodge in the Rihabari area and apprehended 26 Myanmar nationals including 10 females with fake Indian documents.
Police officials seized fake documents such as Aadhaar and voter IDs from the Myanmar nationals. According to the sources, all the 26 Myanmar nationals were heading their way towards the national capital to study theology as all the citizens were belongs to Chin state of Myanmar.
A case have been registered against the Myanmar nationals for entering India and using fake Indian documents for communication as police officials have started their investigation.
All the Myanmar citizens were currently under custody as police officials were investigating how they have created fake documents and reached Guwahati and also heading their way to the national capital.
