Guwahati News Desk: Around 600 journalists vaccinated under the largest vaccination drive of the age group of 18-44 in the last four days organised at Guwahati Press Club in Guwahati.
The vaccination camp started on Wednesday and continued till Saturday as around 600 journalists vaccinated so far.
Recently, the government of Assam has declared journalists as the ‘frontline warriors’ in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to a print media journalist, Karisma Dewri about the drive she said, “It was a hassle-free chore, and GPC has made things so easy for us. I got my vaccine yesterday without any difficulty,all thanks to GPC. This drive surely will help the country to tackle this global enemy.”
Speaking to Staff Correspondent of print media Mohsin Khaiyam, “To be honest, I thank health minister and the new CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for designating media workers as front line workers. As being in media, waiting for long ques for getting vaccinated would have been an issue but due to the effort by the Press Club team and health officials, the media personnel got vaccinated without having any issues. This has motivated us in keeping our fight stronger against the covid pandemic”
