Guwahati News Desk: A circular issued at Delhi government Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (GIPMER) ordering nursing staff members to communicate only in Hindi and English on Saturday.
Speaking of only Malayalam was strictly banned as an order which has been issued by the Nursing Superintendent started that a complaint has been raised regarding using of Malayalam language in the work place for communicating in GIPMER.
Malayalam language was used as 60 per cent of nursing staff belongs to Kerela whereas maximum patients and colleagues in the hospital are not familiar with the Malayalam language and felt helpless causing a lot of inconvenience.
According to the sources, a Malayalam nurses has said that, “Such issues was raised in the past too as majority of nurses are from Kerela but it’s not like any of us speak to patients in Malayalam.”
“As like us many nurses are also Manipuri and Punjabi as they were seen talking to each other in their over language which has never become an issue.”
