Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has launched ‘Chief Minister Sishu Seva Scheme’ on Saturday for the children who have lost their parents due to COVID-19.
The scheme was launched on the eve of the completion of seven years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA Government.
The announcement was made by the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma at a press meet.
Government of Assam to provide financial assistance of Rs 3500 per child every month to financial assistance for children with guardian or caretaker.
Children below 10 years of age and adolescent girls with no guardian to provide adequate funding towards upkeep and educational expenditure.
The government of Assam will provide one tola gold under the Arundhati Scheme and an amount of Rs 50 thousand to each such girl at the marriageable age.
Laptops and tablets will be provided to school and college doing orphan child or undergoing vocational training as all such students to be linked to skill-based education and also provide training.
