Guwahati News Desk: Guwahati Traffic Police has issued E-Challans for the traffic violators to ensure a smooth commute for the citizen in Guwahati City.
In the last 15 days, Guwahati Traffic Police has detected 7,708 violators in the city as 1,329 E-Challans totalling of Rs 28,97,500 was sent to court.
A total of Rs 15,51,900 fined by GTP on the spot.
Among the total of 7,708 violators around 4,634 are non-FIR cases.
A total of 1,036 parking violation were caught by the traffic police in Guwahati.
In Guwahati, traffic violation is one of the major problems as many vehicles plying on the roads do not follow the traffic rules and creates havoc in the city.
According to the sources, in Christian Basti and Bora Service of GS Road huge traffic was created due to illegal double parking which forces to slow down the plying vehicles.
Many four-wheelers were found parking illegally in the city and hold up traffic.
Guwahati Traffic Police is taking all necessary step to reduce traffic, took place through illegal parking and violation in the city.
