Sangita Dewri, Food Correspondent: Chicken curry is everyone’s favorite I guess !! It goes well with both rice and roti. We can combine Chicken with many things. As the weather has become colder the choice of dishes also changes. So, here is a recipe of spicy chicken curry with banana flower which is very simple to make yet very delicious.
INGREDIENTS
- Chicken – 1/2 kilo
- Banana flower – 1
- Potato – 2 medium-sized
- Onion – 2 medium-sized
- Salt – as per taste
- turmeric powder – 1tsp
- Ginger –
- Garlic – 8 – 10 pods
- Green chillies – 5
- Jeera powder – 1tsp
- Dhania powder – 1tsp
- Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1tsp
- Garam masala – 1tsp
- Mustard oil – 5 tsp
PROCESS
Firstly wash the chicken and marinate with turmeric powder, salt and kashmiri red chilli powder. Then grate the banana flower. Then make a paste of ginger and garlic.
Add oil to the wok and fry onion till golden brown. Then add the potatoes and fry for 2mins. After that add the marinated chicken and cover for 10mins. Remove the lid and add the banana flower, ginger garlic paste, jeera powder, dhania powder, green chillies. When everything is fried add 3cups of water to it and cover for another 10mins. At last add the garam masala powder and cook for 2mins. When the gravy is a little thick turn off the flame.
Spicy chicken curry with banana flower is ready. Serve with rice or roti. Enjoy !!
