Guwahati News Desk: A woman was brutally raped by two men at Charaideo district in Assam.
The incident took place when the woman was returning home from the hospital after testing negative for COVID-19.
According to the sources, the woman tested positive for COVID-19 along with her husband and daughter who were in home quarantine.
She belonged to a tea garden workers family at Borhaat Bagamaati area.
They were shifted to Sapekhati Model Hospital after their health got deteriorated.
Her husband was discharged on Thursday while both mother and daughter were discharged on Saturday.
Due to ongoing curfew, the duo couldn’t manage a vehicle to thier home and had to cover a distance of 25 km on foots.
According to the source, the woman requested the hospital authorities to arrange a vehicle but was denied.
The incident took place at around 7 pm in the Dhudarai area, the daughter somehow managed to escape and inform the nearby villagers and police officials about the incident.
Later, the victim was found in critical condition and was immediately admitted to the nearest hospital by the villagers.
The Charaideo Police registered a case against the two accused and launched a search operation against them.
